// The Origin

Built across four cities in eight months.

Venture Architect Studio is not a studio that looks cross-regional on the website. It is a studio that was built cross-regionally, live, over the past eight months. What started as a full-time role in Switzerland reshaped itself into a moving studio operating across continents, with real clients and real co-founded ventures built along the way.

The working thesis came out of that process directly. Every city taught a different piece of what a venture studio for the next decade needs to look like: Swiss architectural rigor. American operating pace. MENA network access. APAC execution speed. None of these on their own is enough. Together they describe how VAS actually operates.

That cross-regional reality is now permanent. Two primary hubs, Bali and Dubai, complement the existing DACH network. Every VAS engagement, whether services or co-founding, can route through all three.

// The Architect

One architect. One coherent mind across every engagement.

Joanna Rubin trained as an architect at ETH Zurich, then ran a decade-long career bridging technical systems, business strategy, and cross-cultural networks across Europe, the US, and the Middle East.

The work VAS does is directly shaped by that training. ETH-architectural thinking treats every business the same way you treat a building: foundation, structure, systems, and the relationships between them. You don't fix a load-bearing wall by repainting the kitchen. You map the whole structure, identify the actual constraint, and intervene where it matters.

Five languages, three continents of working relationships, and an MBA in Business Analytics and AI from Hult International Business School add the operational layer. Clients and co-founding partners bring the domain expertise and the original idea. Joanna spots the opportunities and brings the puzzle pieces together, building a practical business around the theory and the knowledge moat.

She is direct, structured, pragmatic, and deeply curious. Engagements feel less like consulting and more like co-thinking. No decks for the sake of decks, no strategy-theatre. Every conversation produces a next move.

VAS operates as a hybrid studio. Joanna holds the strategic mind, the client relationships, and every final decision. Five specialised AI agents handle execution underneath, giving the delivery capacity of a six-person boutique with the coherence of one coordinator.

Every venture studio needs a rigorous operational counterpart. For VAS, that role is held by Sean Rubin, our Swiss partner, operating the backend layer, client delivery coordination, and the quality standards that every VAS engagement inherits. The Swiss name on the brand is not marketing, it is working methodology.

The foundation

Swiss architectural rigor, German-speaking entrepreneur network, existing client base.

Our working language in DACH is German. Relationships here run deep: Codes of Money (wealth management co-founding), Alex Dros Brand Portfolio, Martina Specht, MediTeam, and an active presence at events across Switzerland, Austria, and Germany.

The long-term HQ

Dubai as the commercial base. Swiss Embassy access in Dubai and Qatar. Cross-Gulf network development.

VAS Holding is registered in the UAE. The Dubai hub gives us direct access to MENA's most active commercial ecosystem and a diplomatic channel into Gulf states that is hard to replicate from outside.

Asia-Pacific · APAC

The launchpad

Bali as community and creative base. Singapore for venture incorporation. Indonesian and regional networks.

APAC is where new ventures launch and find momentum. Two co-founded ventures (The Interrupt and Two Red Tabs) are incorporated in Singapore. Bali hosts the daily community and creative work, plus the Da Nang AI governance summit in July 2026.
